Biafrans launch Biafrexit referendum to leave Nigeria, after success of Brexit

Following today’s global shocker, the Bretix vote, a new referendum campaign, Biafrexit, has been launched that could, potentially, also shock the world.

A referendum known as Bretix was held on Thursday, June 23, 2016, culminating in the decision by Britons to quit the European Union.

Perhaps, inspired by this turn of events, the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Friday, June 24, 2016 afternoon announced the official launch of a campaign slogan, Biafrexit Vote, for a referendum on independence for Biafra.

An IPOB spokesperson, Clifford Iroanya said in an e-mail to The Trent, “The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu hereby officially launch the campaign slogan titled: BIAFREXIT VOTE.”

Iroanya also shared the campaign’s logo (below) said an official statement on the new referendum campaign would soon follow.

Biafra is a short lived republic carved out of the old Eastern Nigeria region in 1967. Its declaration of independence sparked a civil war in Nigeria and was reclaimed back into Nigeria when the Biafran forces surrendered to the Nigerian government in 1969. The secession was led by the late Emeka Ojukwu, a colonel in the Nigerian Army and administrator of the Eastern Region at the time he declared independence from Nigeria.

Residents task Obaseki as he joins Oshiomhole on projects inspection

Traders at Uwelu Auto parts market and the Igbinaduwa community yesterday, gave a rousing reception to Mr. Godwin Obaseki, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the September 10 gubernatorial election in Edo State as he joined Governor Adams Oshiomhole on inspection of some projects in the state capital.
The traders who chanted the APC gubernatorial candidate’s name during the inspection asked him not to let the Governor and people of the state down but should build on the legacies of the Oshiomhole administration, promising that he has their full support.
Speaking on behalf of the teeming crowd, a resident of Igbinaduwa community, Mr. Isaac Ibalogban said, “we are all behind you. Mr. Obaseki, please, don’t disappoint our Governor. We want you to follow his footsteps because he has been doing well for us.
“Right from the time I have been in this town, this is the first time I am seeing this State developing like other States. We have always appreciated him for whatever he is doing. I want you to follow his footsteps so that Edo State can continue to change more what it is.”
Responding, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC)  Mr. Godwin Obaseki said, “I want to assure you, Governor Adams Oshiomhole has done part one.  I will continue with part two”, while Governor Oshiomhole said “I want to assure you the reason we are all united behind Obaseki is that from the beginning, he’s been in the kitchen. So, he knows the A to Z of this project. But you know there are silent workers behind the scene. So, now the masquerade has to come out and take over from me. You know governance is like a relay, it is not a hundred metre dash. It’s a relay; when you get to the next point, you pass the baton and then fall back.”
At Uwelu, while addressing the traders during the inspection of the asphalting of the Uwelu road, Governor Oshiomhole said, we have come for project inspection. You know the last time I was here, this place was very bad, and we told you we were going to put asphalt, and after asphalt, we will put drainage. You have seen that they have started working on the asphalt now. By the time we are done, all the flooding issues would have been addressed. And coincidentally, a man who with your support, and by the special grace of God will be the next governor, I have taken him around, he has been part of it, he is the brain box in the office while I am the one on the road.
“Now, I have brought him to the road so that he can see what we have been doing. So, he has come to see this project and it will continue till November, and when I finish, I will hand over to him and he will continue from there. Now he has to come from the office and come to the road and continue from where we stop. I know that all the support you have been giving me, you will transfer that support to him. All the loyalty you have been giving me, transfer that loyalty to him so that every project we have started, he will make sure he completes them, and what we have on ground, he will make sure he completes them.
Oshiomhole continued, “Within the next few weeks, we are going to start erecting the street lights. We will put the street light because we know many of you are traders. And when there is street light, you don’t have to close at 6.00 pm, so that you will have light all day round.”
In his remarks, Mr. Obaseki said, “I want to assure all of you that what you are seeing now is a plan that was started eight years ago. This is only part one. By the grace of God, when Comrade finishes in November, we will start part two. After building this road, what we are going to bring are industries. We will make sure we have electricity here. We are building a power plant the will bring electricity. After bringing electricity, we will bring industries so that every one of you can get work. So, believe me; trust me. I will work for you.”

Oshiomhole hosts Umahi, says politics not war

Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State set politics aside, on Monday, to host his Ebonyi State counterpart and Chairman of the electoral committee for the governorship primaries of the PDP in Edo State, Governor David Umahi, saying “what is at stake is not war, it is contestation, it is democracy.”

Speaking while playing host to Governor Umahi who paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, Benin City, shortly after conducting the primaries of the PDP, Governor Oshiomhole said, “I appreciate you very much, party or no party. I always say that for people of our level and of our exposure, we should all recognize that there is only one supra-party to which we all belong; and that is Nigeria as a nation and we are all committed to serving it and to contributing to its strength, unity, progress and prosperity.

“I believe we made a conscious choice as a people to settle for a multiparty democracy. We could have opted for a unitary party system where everybody must belong to one party, but we opted for multiparty democracy. And it can only happen if people, very decent people, responsible people, people who mean well find different political platforms to canvass for support, to bid for power and to use power creatively to impact on the lives of our people.”

Oshiomhole said the visit would go a long way to demonstrate that what is at stake is not war but contestation in democracy. He said, “So, you are one hundred percent right when you said that party or no party, in fact, the most important thing is our common country and our common commitment to serve our people. And as a person, I appreciate you a lot, and I appreciate the courtesy of coming to Edo State, and in spite of a very challenging assignment you have had to perform between yesterday and this afternoon, you have taken the time to visit your brother which is myself. That in a way will go out to tell many people that what is at stake is not war; it is contestation; it is democracy. It doesn’t happen if you don’t have more than one candidate. And if there are no candidates, then there is no democracy.”

While urging Nigerians to rise above sentiments and partisan politics but to stand up to work for the unity of Nigeria, Oshiomhole congratulated Governor Umahi, saying “I also want to congratulate you for a successful party primary. We were also able to watch it. I saw you render pro bono electoral services, and like you said, when followers see leaders of different parties sharing jokes, they will know that this is not war. It is all about persuasion, politics of ideas. I pray that our democracy continues to grow from strength to strength, and we emphasize more on issues rather than persons, and across political divides, we build friendship. I know that there are a lot of people in my party who have a lot of regard for your person, and vice versa. So, this is the way it should be.

“I think we should exchange this visit across all divides to build unity because we still have few challenges here and there. There are still a lot of people who question the unity of our country, but people of your level and my level, we must rise above all sentiments to stand for Nigeria and to work for the unity, as they say, to uphold her honour and glory.  May God use us to do much more for our country and for our respective states.”

Speaking earlier, the Governor of Ebonyi State, Mr. David Umahi said, “I am here to see my brother. I came yesterday evening to conduct the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primaries. I was the chairman of the electoral committee for the governorship primaries of PDP. At the level of the Governors’ Forum, we don’t emphasize party at all. That is why I told him I was going to be here. And he was very excited and said he was going to host me.

“Yesterday, I was to be hosted here, but I came a bit late, and I went into stakeholders meeting. So, after the congress, I said, let me see him, and greet him and appreciate him for the security and other logistics that he provided to make our primaries very hit-free. This is how it should be. We are one people, the same Nigerians. And so, we should play politics of maturity, politics of decency, and to know that the interest of our country should come first before the party. And so, you may not imagine that I have just produced a candidate to confront his candidate, and here we are in Government House, talking and rejoicing.  And I want to pray to God that the mood we are in now should be the mood of the election.”

Governor Umahi said the success of the primaries of the two parties is an indication that Nigeria can be better. He said, “I want to also commend him for a successful primary. We took a cue from him. It was well organized; I watched it live. Again, we are very happy for that feat because it shows that in our politics, we are growing and we will continue to grow to a point when things are decently done.

“The two primaries in Edo State indicate that Nigeria can be better. So, for this, I congratulate him both for the APC primaries and that of PDP, and it is my prayer that God is going to strengthen you for the work you are doing for the people of Edo State. Again, I bring greetings from my family to your family.”

Again, prophet says he saw Buhari dressed in black, says Osinbajo will complete his term

Prophet Emmanuel Chukwudi, of King of Kings Deliverance Church, Mgbo Court, Ohaukwu Local Government, Ebonyi State has stated again that he keeps seeing President Muhammadu Buhari dressed in black in his visions, and that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is the person he kept seeing taking over as the president.

The controversial prophet had in February this year cried out that he does not see the president completing his term in office.

Speaking to Jungle Journalist yesterday in a telephone interview, Chukwudi said that, like he had said before, there are plans by soldiers to take over power, in an event of anything happening to the president, but said that the manipulation will not work, and Osibanjo will eventually emerge. He however said said that the Vice President will not rule beyond 2019, as Alhaji Atiku Abubakar will take over power then.

Hear him; “What I saw before is still what I am seeing. In the spiritual realm, I can see that Buhari is gone. If urgent steps are not taken, medication can not be a solution to what is happening. What is happening I think, is a spiritual matter. If Buhari travel to London or America, or any part of the world, I don’t see medication curing him. It’s only God that can heal him.

“In the spiritual realm, if urgent steps are not taken, there is problem. But I don’t see any doctor who can heal him.  The visions are coming more frequently, and that’s why I decided to speak out again.

On whether he knows the nature of illness the president is suffering from, the prophet said; “I am not a physical doctor but I am a prophet, I don’t know what sickness it is that is worrying him. All I know is that in the spiritual realm, I see Mr President wearing black and black. Black and black in prophetic utterances means death. That is what it means.

“God is telling me in a very strong voice that there are every serious plans for the military to take over power, it’s a solid and concrete plan. As I am seeing it, some top military officers are already seeing that Buhari may not complete his term.

“They want to take power by all means. God is telling me that if certain prayers are offered, that manipulation will not take place. I see Osibanjo taking power. However, after 2019, it’s Atiku Abubakar.

He equally said that the All Progressives Congress, APC will win the 2016 elections in Edo State; “I see God doing something wonderful in Edo State. Godwin Obaseki will emerge as the next governor. God has spoken, in the spiritual world, the matter has been decided”.

In February this year, the controversial prophet had called on Nigerians to pray fervently for  Buhari, whom he said may not complete his first term in office.

The prophet in 2011 prophesied that Goodluck Jonathan will win the 2011 presidential elections, but lose to Buhari in 2015.

The Ishielu, Ebonyi-born prophet had also said;  “God told me that the president would suffer health challenges, and anyone coming out to say God told him that there are plans to assassinate Buhari by Jonathan is lying. That is a false prophecy. That is not what God said. God said that Buhari will have health challenges. Nobody is planning to assassinate Buhari, but God said he will have health challenges. Anyone saying that he will be assassinated is lying, it’s not from God.

He has also predicted that billionaire Donald Tr
