As the 2019 general elections approaches, the Director General of Atikulated Agenda 2019, Chief Emeka Kalu has endorsed Dr Okezie Ikpeazu for second term.

Kalu stated this in a Press Release he signed from his Houston Texas office, in the United States.

FG List 69 Roads, Bridges Projects Ongoing in South East

The Federal Government has released the list of the 69 ongoing road and bridge projects in the South-east.

In a statement in Abuja on Monday, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said though the contracts for many of the roads were awarded before the advent of this Administration, they were either poorly funded or not funded at all, hence work on the roads has lingered.

The Minister said the 69 roads and bridges, which are spread across the five states in the South-east, are now in different stages of completion, thanks to the funding sourced by the present Administration from budgetary allocations, the Sukuk Bond and the Presidential Infrastructure Development Fund.

He said the government is also looking into the possibility of using a part of the recovered looted funds to fund the development of infrastructure across the country.

While announcing the projects, which include the rehabilitation of the existing Niger Bridge as well as the construction of the 2nd Niger Bridge last week, Alhaji Mohammed promised to publish the full list of the roads and bridges, as well as give a state-by-state breakdown of the total figure.

The lists are tabulated below:

Igbo Group Condemns Continued Detention of 122 IPOB Women

The Igbo Renaissance Forum is shocked at the arrest and detention of over one hundred women of various ages by the police in Imo state and treated less than humans. We want to state categorically that this is condemnable, undemocratic and dehumanizing.

While there are real concerns about their safety, personal health and hygiene, this is just scapegoating a people that are already targeted for victimization and suppression.

We’ve resolved to make a case for their release, and for the prison authorities to allow them receive sanitary towels, water and food, and not to be treated like animals the way they are doing currently.

Still having these women remanded in prison custody under very inhuman conditions after the magistrate declared that she has no jurisdiction to try them is cruel and inhumane.

We demand that this action of brutality and aggressiveness towards #OurMothers be stopped NOW!

We all need to come together to highlight these gory stories and the human impact of the incarceration of these women and the current deplorable state in which they are kept in prison.

It is very humiliating and debasing to find that these women are refused basic necessities, and are menstruating on the floor because the authorities have barred visitors who come with sanitary pads for them. The prison officials have made it impossible for them to have access to water to even wash themselves, and are forced to sleep on the floor with their clothes that are soaked in blood!

*THIS IS A VERY DEMEANING AND AN ABOMINABLE ACT AGAINST WOMANHOOD!*

Many of these women are lactating mothers, some are elderly women with health challenges, and yet are denied medication and food, while being treated less than animals. Some of these women are traumatized and need urgent medical attention, which the authorities do not pay heed to. Many are widowed and are bread winners of their families, and this action has exposed their children and wards to all kinds of dangers and risks, including hunger and psychological trauma. Their families are destabilized and whole communities have been thrown into deep sorrow.

We are calling on all well meaning citizens who believe in the rule of law and the sanctity of life to join hands with us to raise our voices to call for the unconditional release of these 112 women who are being tortured psychologically and physically.

We MUST as a people build solidarity, and call people to action to protect the fundamental human rights of these 112 women being subjected to inhuman conditions.

We are by this communication reaching out to individuals of sound mind, who know the value of womanhood to rally together and resist such actions that are targeted at debasing our womenfolk.

Igbo Renaissance Forum would in due course be staging various actions to protest this attack against *#OurMothers*.

How Abia Government Sponsored Attack on APGA, Alex Otti Supporters

The 2019 APGA Abia governorship aspirant, Dr. Alex Otti OFR is compelled to write and officially inform Abians and the country in general of a very barbaric and life threatening incident that took place on Tuesday, 21st August, 2018, at Obingwa LGA of Abia state.

Dr. Otti considers this unprovoked attack as very dangerous and grievous, and thus notifies as follows:

1. That the Obingwa chapter of APGA had informed the state leadership of the party, and it’s governorship aspirant, Dr. Otti of the willingness of some former members of other political parties and intending new members to declare officially for APGA at a rally organized by the party on the said date, at the premises of the National Institute of Nigerian Languages (NILAN) formerly Federal School of Arts and Science, Umuokahia, located at Obingwa LGA of the state.

2. That on arrival at the venue early in the morning of the day, the leaders of APGA discovered that the venue had been locked. Given that the venue had been paid for and police clearance secured for the event, the leaders engaged the school security men who were surprised that the gate had been locked. Minutes later, the LGA Chairman, Mr. Hanson Amaechi emerged from across the gate, accompanied by several thugs. He emphatically stated that he was under instruction from the Abia State government to ensure that the rally did not hold and would therefore not unlock the gate. At this point a senior officer of the school came out to confirm that the school had been paid for the venue and the APGA should be allowed access to the premises. The thugs with the LG Chairman threatened the gentleman who left the area out of fear.

3. All the pleading from the APGA leaders fell on deaf ears as the Chairman insisted that the gathering would not hold. Himself and his thugs subsequently started making open threats, vowing that nothing would make Alex Otti and APGA hold any political activity in Obingwa; because it is the LGA of governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

4. To prove their threats after long verbal altercations and engagements, the thugs began hauling stones, bottles and other dangerous objects at APGA and Otti’s supporters. This caused confusion as many people, especially women, scampered for safety. The climax of the attack was when they drove off a bulldozer packed by the side of the road, and sped towards the direction of our people; with the intent of crushing them and their vehicles. This almost caused a stampede as many people who ran for their lives fell on the ground while some who jumped over the gutter while avoiding the bulldozer sustained injuries.

5. Information made available to us so far, has revealed how governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s agents mobilized and funded the thugs who carried out the violent attack with the aim of scaring Dr. Alex Otti away from the LGA. Of course most of the thugs didn’t hide their reason for the attack; which is to stop Alex Otti from venturing into Obingwa LGA.

6. Fellow Abians, the purpose of this release is neither to draw public sympathy nor to appeal to emotions, because we are neither cowards nor weaklings, rather, it is to update Abians, put them on notice and properly situate record of events even as 2019 draws closer.

While the present Abia state government is determined to apply primitive life threatening violence against their opponents and innocent Abians to stay in power at all costs and continue their destruction of the state through incompetent leadership, Alex Otti and APGA shall do everything humanly possible within the ambit of the law, and in line with acceptable modern democratic engagements to ensure that such terrorist onslaughts are tamed without putting the lives of Abians in danger.

We are also using this opportunity to as usual appeal to parents and guardians to caution and call to order, their children and wards who are being given peanuts and sent on suicide mission, which political thuggery represents.

Finally, we wish to inform Abians, that APGA, Dr. Alex Otti and their supporters shall be going back to Obingwa in the next few days to host the event.

Collectively, we shall defeat terror and sponsors of terror in Abia, for the good of our state and well being of our people.

Signed
*Ferdinand Ekeoma*

Dr. Alex Otti

Abia Professionals, South East Businessmen, Technocrats Back Alex Otti Governorship Race

A group of Abia professionals, South East businessmen and technocrats have thrown their weight behind Dr. Alex Otti following his declaration last week to re-run for the Governorship election in the state come 2019.

Dr. Otti a former Group Managing Director of Diamond Bank, Plc., and the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), in Abia State in 2015, has oiled his political machines to sack the incumbent Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in 2019.

The gathering of the group is just one of the arsenals in the armouring of Otti’s growing numbers of supporters, some of whom are decampees of the incumbent governor.

Speaking at a business meeting in Lagos, tagged: TimeOut with Alex, where the banker-turned politician was hosted, the group vowed to use their means and power to force the incumbent out of Government House Umuahia and collect the mandate that was stolen from Dr. Otti in 2015.

They described the present state of Aba, the enviable commercial cum industry hub of the South-East region of Nigeria as decaying city that needs urgent restoration picking Dr. Otti as the man that is fit for the job of restoring the lost glory of Aba for the benefit Abians.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of Emzor Pharmaceuticals Limited, Dr. Stella Okoli, God has appointed Dr. Otti as the messiah to restore the glory of Abia for the benefit of the people of the South East.

She said: “I believe that Dr. Otti is intelligent and a well-read man with great understanding of the needs of the people of Abia State and as such I recommend him as the best man to do the job of restoring our people.”

While calling on all well-meaning people of the state to back their support for Dr. Otti’s race for the Government House, she said, “we need to work together and give him our support so that we can get him to offer his service to our people.”

Okoli called on Otti, who she referred to as the next governor of the state to turn Aba to an industrial hub for manufacturing, particularly thanking him for offering to serve his people as well as for the sacrifice that he has made so far for the entire people.

Chairman of Seplat Petroleum, Plc., Dr. ABC Orjiako described Otti as the solution to the problem of the Abia noting that what the state lack presently is man that will bring good governance to the people of Abia pin-pointing Dr. Otti as the right man.

He however expressed worry that time is running out for the Alex Otti 2019 Campaign team in their quest to retrieve Abia from the wrong hands noting that very few are yet to join the fight for the restoration of good governance in their Abia state.

He said that the victory of Dr. Otti was stolen in 2015 because a lot people were not on ground to monitor the counting of votes stressing that once Otti is elected his good governance in the state will affect the whole South East.

Orjiako said that although Aba was well planned as a city but is now a refuse dump urging Otti not to despair in his fight to restore the glory of Aba expressing confidence that he can turn the state around.

Similarly, in his remark, the former Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission, Engr. Ernest Ndukwe praised Dr, Otti for his outstanding quality, which made him suitable for the job of bringing good governance to the people of Abia stressing that he appreciates the decision of Dr. Otti to re-run for the next year governorship election in Abia State.

Describing his lost at the polls for the Anambra South Senatorial election of 2015 as an unpleasant experience because of the way his mandate was stolen like that of Dr. Otti, he said that many true patriot of Abia were not on ground to support him, Dr. Otti suggesting that for Otti to win the 2019 governorship election, the right people must be on ground to watch the votes as they are cast and counted.

Ndukwe who is also the founder of OpenMedia Limited said that people must be put in strategic position to protect the results of the polls stating that the people of Abia are tired of bad leadership.

“He has the means to change the life of the people of Abia, he knows what the people wants and has the capacity to respond to help the people”, Ndukwe said advising that politics must be played the way it should be.

In solidarity with the professionals, businessmen and technocrats, former Managing Director of Shell Nigerian Limited, and the Chairman of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc., Mr. Mutiu Sunmonu promised to help and encourage Dr. Otti to become the next governor of his state and replicate what he has done in the business and corporate world in Abia.

Sunmonu who is also friend to intending governor said that without good governance which only Otti can deliver in Abia State, the investment made by parents on children cannot be achieved without good governance saying that if Otti gets elected, his changes will affect other parts of the South East.

While acknowledging the show of support from the professionals, the man on saddle, Dr. Otti promised to use the influence of his friend Sunmonu to bring Juluis Berger to Abia and build bridges that will give Aba a face-lift noting that what Abia needs is a total transformation due to height of social and economic decay in the state.

According to him, you cannot build on dilapidated structures because major roads in the state including the Port-Harcourt/Aba roads are in a sad state promising good governance, which has eluded the people for years.

He said that he is not looking for money since he had a good and comfortable job before joining politics stressing that that was why he rejected the offer from the opposition party when they approached him to sell his mandate to them after the election he won.

Otti said that leadership in Abia State has be given to people who don’t mean well for the state stressing that he is coming with a new perception to change things in Abia, and that the era of godfatherism is gone in the state.

He called on all those who love the state to join hands with him to take over the state from the hands of those whose main concern is the hand-out they get every month from the government without working.

Obasanjo bitter because Atiku wont break nation’s laws for him, says Kalu

Director General of Atikulated Agenda 2019, Dr Emeka Kalu has said that former president Obasanjo’s refusal to reconcile with Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was because of his botched 3rd term agenda.

Kalu also affirmed that Obasanjo should stop ascribing supernature, as the destiny of Nigeria is not in his hands but in the hands of God, who is the only one to decide if Atiku will be president or not.

He advised the former president to hide his head in shame for all the corruption allegations against him, none of which he has been able to excricate himself from, warning that he could go to jail if he doesn’t keep quiet.

He said “Its high time Obasanjo stops behaving like a jealous woman. Is it because Atiku refused to break the law and allow him run for 3rd term that he is still bother? Thats a very bad spirit in politics, the spirit of bitterness. Obasanjo is bitter, and its not good for his health.

“If you love Nigeria like you keep claiming Obasanjo, then you should know that Atiku deserves some accolades for stopping you from hurting the country. The constitution does not allow for a 3rd term and that’s what Atiku was defending. But you are too selfish to see that.

“You must know this, you are not God and cannot stop the former Vice President if its God’s will that he emerges as our next president.

“What you should be doing now is to pray to God to forgive your sins of corruption against Nigerians, instead of fighting to keep the country backwards”, he lambasted.
