Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has said that the lockdown grace (6am Friday – 2pm Sunday, April 12, 2020) granted by his Government to Abians and residents alike ends at 2pm today.
Consequently, the 7-day lockdown extension which took effect on Wednesday 8th day of April, 2020 before the lockdown grace continues from 2pm Sunday, 12th April to end on Friday, 17th April, 2020.
A Special Announcement signed by the Barr. Chris Ezem, Secretary to the Government on behalf of the governor also announced plans to commence fumigation of public areas including, churches, schools, offices, markets, public buildings etc. in Abia State between Monday and Tuesday respectively.
He cautioned the general public to stay at home because of the health hazards associated with this exercise and in continued compliance to the lockdown.
