Why Buhari, Osibanjo were absent at Abba Kyari’s burial- Femi Adesina

The Special Adviser to the President on Media, Mr Femi Adesina has thrown more light into the reasons why the President and Vice President were not at Abba Kyari’s burial.

Adesina said that the times are not auspicious for such a movement.

He spoke to Jungle Journalist Media Limited in a telephone chat Sunday afternoon.

“You don’t know what it takes for a president to move. When a president moves, there will be a battery of security men, protocol men, personal aides. Already, that has gone beyond the number of people that are prescribed to be at a gathering.

“So it’s not an auspicious time for presidential movement. The minimum number of people that are moving with the president, this is not the time for it.

He also dispelled rumours that the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osibanjo is down with Coronavirus.

According to him, contrary to speculations that Prof Osibanjo is in isolation, he has been in the public domain, holding virtual meetings and teleconferences.

“Have you not seen him holding virtual meetings and teleconferences? Even, he has been holding physical meetings with social distancing in his meeting room. But instead of 10 to 15 people, there could be 4 seats and they are all spread out. It’s been in the media”.

Adesina laughed when confronted with the question about the rumours making rounds that he himself has contracted the dreaded Coronavirus.

“Whenever the president has an event, or when he wants to make an announcement, I prepare it, and I sign it. Are these things done by someone who is indisposed?

“Anybody that is discerning and does not want to believe evil about the next person would know that the rumours are not true”, he stated.
