Enugu State Govt Launches Initiative to Regulate Herbal Medicine Practice

The Enugu State Government through the State Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology, is set to launch a pioneering initiative aimed at regulate herbal medicine practice across the state.

 

This landmark Regulation and Sensitization Programme is scheduled to run from June 26th to July 10th, 2024, and will cover all Local Government Councils within the three Senatorial Zones of the state.

 

This initiative underscores Enugu State Government’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery, ensuring the safety and efficacy of herbal medicine, and integrating traditional practices into the broader healthcare system. By regulating herbal medicine practice, the government aims to safeguard public health, promote sustainable practices, and empower local practitioners with the knowledge and tools necessary to provide high-quality care.

 

The Regulation and Sensitization Programme will feature a series of seminars and workshops, beginning with an opening ceremony on June 26th, 2024, in Enugu. Each session will bring together modern traditional medicine practitioners from various local government areas, providing a platform for education, regulation, and collaboration. Enugu North, Enugu East, and Isi-Uzo at Enugu on June 26th, 2024 (Wednesday)

 

Opening Ceremony

Awgu, Aninri, and Oji River at Awgu on June 28th, 2024 (Friday)

 

Udi and Ezeagu at Udi on July 2nd, 2024 (Tuesday)

 

Udenu, Igbo-eze South, and Igbo-eze North at Obollo-Afor on July 3rd, 2024 (Wednesday)

 

Nsukka, Igbo-Etiti, and Uzo-Uwani at Nsukka on July 5th, 2024 (Friday)

 

Nkanu West, Nkanu East, and Enugu South at Agbani on July 10th, 2024 (Wednesday).
