A Board of Trustees member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA, Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka has congratulated Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu, widow of late Igbo leader Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, on her appointment as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
Ezeonwuka, while speaking to journalists on the development, said the choice of Mrs Ojukwu was perfect as she has paid her dues as a stateswoman and stakeholder in the conclave called Nigeria.
He also observed that Bianca Ojukwu, who is also a member of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) stood out in her own party, and her remarkable personality qualified her for the role she has been chosen to play.
His words “We at APGA and indeed all Ndi Igbo feel greatly honored over the appointment of Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu to serve as one of Tinubu’s ministers. Her selection is a major step in the right direction, due to her pedigree in the areas she has already served. Remarkably, her wealth of experience as a Foreign Affairs Minister of this country is a major milestone, and we know she will make this country proud as she is expected to bolster the country’s diplomatic relations and international cooperation”, he remarked.
In a vote of thanks to Mr President, Ezeonwuka, who is popularly known as Ogilisi Igbo stated that President Bola Armed Tinubu has in more ways than one proven that he genuinely has the interests of Igbo people at heart. “The choice of Mrs Ojukwu is strategic. Aside the fact that she stands out in the areas she has served in Anambra State and for the nation, Iyom is also the wife of Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu, one of the most respected Igbos in history. By specifically handing her this ministry, Tinubu is outrightly saying that he stands with Ndi Igbo and everything they believe in, and would fight for the realization of the goals and aspirations of the Igbo man. This is not the first time he is doing this. In the past, he had signed into law a nearly impossible Act, which many presidents failed to do. So many years after the war, he is the first that said that Igbo land deserves to be rehabilitated, and signed into law the South East Development Commission Bill into law. That is the pedigree of a true man of the people, and we say, thank you Mr President! “, he concluded.
