Edo 2024: APC Wins 10 Out Of 18 LGAs, PDP 6 As INEC Awaits Two LGAs

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced results of 16 out of the 18 local government areas (LGAs) where the Edo State governorship election was held on Saturday.


According to the results announced so far by the commission, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Monday Okpebholo, has won in ten local government areas of the state.
 

While Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won in 6 local government areas.

 
Meanwhile, the candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Olumide Akpata, is yet to win in any of the local government areas announced by INEC.

 
However, INEC has proceed on recess pending the results of two local government areas whose results are yet to arrive the commission’s office in Benin, the state capital, for declaration.
 

According to the results announced by the electoral umpire, the candidate of APC is currently leading and his being trailed by the governorship candidate of the PDP, while Labour Party is in distant third.
