Obasanjo Is An Igbo Man, S’West Hasn’t Produced President Since 1999 – Adefuye

Senator Anthony Adefuye, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Tuesday said it is the turn of the South-West to produce the President of Nigeria in 2023 as the only region that is yet to do so since the return of democratic governance to the country in 1999.

Speaking in an interview with INDEPENDENT, Adefuye said those clamouring for the Presidency to go to the South-East are wrong as the region produced former President Olusegun Obasanjo who was in power from 1999 to 2007.

According to him, Obasanjo is an Igbo man because his father hailed from Anambra state while his mother is a Yoruba woman.

He added that while in office Obasanjo concentrated most of his efforts towards developing the South-East, including appointing five Ministers as well as the Central Bank Governor from the region while he completely abandoned the South-West.

He said: “I believe that in 2023, the APC will zone the Presidential ticket to the South. When it comes to the South, then it will be narrowed down to the South West because that is the only region that has not produced the President since 1999. It has always been the North and the Igbos.

“Some people argue that what about Obasanjo? Obasanjo is not a Yoruba man. He is an Igbo man from the South-East. His father is from Anambra while his mother is a Yoruba woman. And that was why during his tenure, he completely ignored the South West. For example, throughout his eight years, he did nothing on the Lagos- Ibadan expressway.

“But he did a lot for his people in the South-East. He picked five Ministers from there and even appointed the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria from Anambra where his father comes from.

“So, it is right for the South-West to demand for the Presidency in 2023. What we should be doing now is working towards 2023 to ensure that the Presidency comes to the Southwest. The Southwest has never produced the President before,” he said.

10 yr old girl murders step brother, says step-mum maltreats her

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a 10-year-old girl for allegedly committing murder at Owode Community in the Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The suspect, whose parents hail from Sokoto State, allegedly pushed a 20-month-old boy, who was her stepbrother, into a deep well.

After committing the act, it was gathered that the suspect initially told her father that the deceased had been kidnapped.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Bolaji Salami, who spoke with journalists about the incident, on Friday in Akure, said the incident happened on December 15, 2020.

He said, “She initially told their father that someone had kidnapped her brother (stepbrother). But she later informed her parents that the boy was inside a well. The deceased’s corpse was later recovered from the well. On receipt of the information, detectives swung into action and arrested the suspect. On interrogation, she confessed to the crime.”

On why she committed the dastardly act, the primary 3 pupil, who was weeping profusely during the interview, said she did not know that her action would result in the death of her stepbrother.

She said she committed the act to avenge the maltreatment meted out to her by the deceased’s mother.

The suspect alleged that his father’s wife always maltreated her following her mother’s separation from her father. She also accused her father of showing much more affection for her late stepbrother than herself. She further stated that she pushed the deceased into the well to punish her stepmother but not knowing it would result in his death.

She said, “My stepmother was always maltreating me. At times, he (the deceased) would pass excreta in the plate we ate with, and his mother would use the same plate to give me food. If I insisted that I would not eat the food, she would start beating me until I finished eating the food. Immediately after eating the food, I would start vomiting.

“On the day of the incident, the same thing happened. Later in the evening, I went to fetch water from the well and he followed me. A voice whispered to me that I should push him into the well and I did it. But I never knew that he would die.

“When they started looking for him and they couldn’t find him, my dad told me to lie that it was my mother who sneaked into our home to kidnap Usman. When I was told that everyone in the house would be taken to the palace of the monarch to swear an oath, I confessed.”

INSECURITY: Oduduwa Republic releases travel guide for citizens in Nigeria

Proponents of a new Yoruba country, Oduduwa Republic have released a travel guide for its citizens.

According to a document intercepted by Jungle Journalist Media Ltd on the social media, its intelligence unit said the guide has become very necessary in the face of worsening security in the country.

It’s reproduced in full below:

Travel Guide for O’odua People in the Mass Killing Field We call Nigeria

December 01, 2020

The Travel Guide Below has been compiled by the Intelligence Unit, Apapo O’odua Koya, (AOKOYA) for all descendants of Oduduwa all over the world. The guide is for those travelling within Nigeria now or in the future.

· Avoid going to any of the North East or North West of Nigeria no matter how important your assignment. The North Central is neither safe. Avoid Kaduna by all means possible. Your best choice is to travel by air to any of the core-Northern states if you insist you must travel.

· While travelling in the SW, your fatherland, beware of non-indigenous armed kidnappers and murderers. They are usually of Fulani extraction, armed, vicious, blood-thirsty, eager to settle primordial scores and brutally savage.

· The armed Fulani men target evening and night for their operations. They are most active on weekends especially at dawn, evenings or nights on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays

· Never travel with your family. If you must travel, don’t go with your wife and children. Family in a car is usually prime targets, knowing resistance will be minimal.

· If you must travel, wear smart dresses with canvass. The opportunity may come for you to run.

· Always keep a dummy phone at hand while your real phone should be left in silence in your car. Delete all bank details in your phone.

· Arm yourself. If may be helpful. You can buy dagger, multiple defense tools, gas cannon, sharp-multidrive tools and pepper spray. Never use them unless you have a unique opportunity to attack your captors. Your attack must be to either escape or to kill your captors if possible whenever you have the chance.

· The armed Fulani usually divide into two camps. One camp stops you in the front, the second camp waits for you to reverse before attacking from the back. If you have a heavy car that can knock and kill those at the front, please do.

· Train yourself on the use of weapons in self-defense. You may find yourself in a position to use AK-47 abandoned in a hurry by kidnappers or left carelessly where you are kept in the bush.

· The Fulani herdsmen usually explore bad portions of the road, drive as fast as possible through such portions. Be swift and decisive on the road. Do no use your phone while driving. It will distract you from concentration and keen observation.

· Fill your tank from the point of departure. Don’t travel alone.

· If you are ever abducted, stay calm and cooperate but be keen to maximize any opportunity.

· If you are sure of escaping into the bush without your car, leave the car doors open and the ignition key on. This will distract the kidnappers and attract passersby.

· The troubled spots are the entire Yoruba space but most importantly: Ogere, Gbongan Junction, Igboho-Shaki way, Ikere-Ado road, Ife-Ibadan highway, Oyo-Ogbomosho highway, Warri-Benin highway, Ikole-Omuo-Lokoja highway; Ilorin-Egbe highway; Jebba-Bode Saadu way; Ilesa-Itaore way; Ogotun-Arakeji-Ado way.

· If you have the chance, drive close to a lorry or trailer on the highway.

· Put on the local radio while travelling not listening to music. An important information relevant to kidnappers on the highway may filter to you.

· Whenever you see herd of cows, be suspicions, keep a distance and look for a safe, swift drive through.

· Arm yourself spiritually.

Despite The #EndSARS Protests, Lagos Records Zero COVID-19 Case in 24 Hours (See Latest List)

There was no single confirmed case of covid-19 in Lagos in the last 24 hours, according to the latest data released last night by the NCDC.

On Saturday, Lagos, which has 20,807 confirmed cases so far, logged 18 cases, out of the 48 reported.

On Sunday, the state reported no new virus incident, although 800 Covid-19 patients remain hospitalised.

Out of the new 62 cases for the entire country, the North East state of Taraba dominated with 18 cases.

The uptick in the cases in the state appears surprising, as the state is one of the least affected by the virus.

So far it has 140 cases, including the 18 recorded on Sunday.

Ogun state logged 15 cases of the new 62, while the FCT Abuja, along with Kaduna, reported six each.

Overall, Nigeria now has a total of 61,992 confirmed infections, with 57,465 discharged.

The death toll also increased by one to reach 1,130, NCDC said.

The 62 new cases are reported from 11 states- Taraba (18), Ogun (15), FCT (6), Kaduna (6), Katsina (4), Ondo (4), Ekiti (3), Rivers (3), Kano (1), Osun (1), Sokoto (1).

Stroll Lagos streets to prove you are still Jagaban, Eholor challenges Tinubu

By Chief Patrick Osagie Eholor

I will not encourage anybody to burn and loot but I will always encourage people to fight for their rights because their rights is their life. I am appealing to journalists that they should henceforth show civility by addressing people appropriately. If you address us as thugs and hoodlums when we travel out of the country those who are over there will see us as such.

I am surprised at the emptiness of Governor Obaseki’s address to the people of Edo State recently. He was blatantly accusing members of the opposition of wielding guns and other deadly weapons during the #endsars protest. As the chief security officer of the state. He is vested with all the authority to arrest such people but he didn’t rather he was apportioning blame. We are tired of this unnecessary fight.

I am appealing to Governor Godwin Obaseki to desist from inciting the people of Edo State against each other. He has won his second tenure election. Let him go about ensuring that we all enjoy the dividends of democracy which he promised during the campaign. He, not his aide, should tell us why he stored palliatives while people were starving. We have millions of street urchins carrying plates and begging for food in the north yet northern governors stored palliatives not minding that the people are dying of starvation. If there is a definition of wickedness it is Nigerian politicians.

I listened to Bola Tinubu saying that he is still the Jagaban. Let him prove to us that this is true by strolling around a major street in broad daylight unaccompanied by police escorts.
