The president of One Love Foundation and human rights activist, Chief Dr Patrick Eholor has advised the Chief Justice of the Federation against swearing in Ahmed Bola Tinubu as president on May 29th, 2023.
Eholor said this in Abuja this weekend while speaking with journalists.
The fiery activist in his message, listed several reasons why Tinubu, who ran under the umbrella of the All Progressive Congress (APC) cannot be considered as a winner in the polls.
Arguing against INEC’s declaration of Tinubu, he stated that first of all, INEC broke the law by the declaration since Tinubu didn’t meet the constitutional requirements to be considered a president.
He also said Tinubu connived with INEC to rig the election, thereby stealing the mandate of the Nigerian electorate. In his case, Eholor said “this ridiculosity must not be allowed to stand in this country. How can a man who didn’t score up to 25% in Abuja even be considering becoming president? Why is our judiciary silent on this matter, why is this illegality threatening the Rule of Law?
The judiciary must never allow the constitution be rubbed on the mud by letting this illegality take place.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu committed perjury, forged certificate, aside losing the election. Mr Peter Obi won hands down, and should be the next president. What the judiciary must do is to ensure that the tribunal are held, and that it is transparent, so that the next president may be declared. This has to take place before anyone is sworn in.
And to the CJN, don’t end democratic leadership in Nigeria by swearing in someone who stole the mandate of over 100 million Nigerians.
Again, Tinubu’s case is clear as it is recent, that he is mired in drug deals that led to the forefeiting of $450,000 to the American government. Is that the character you intend to become our president?
Also, when did Nigeria begin to vote in citizens with dual citizenship, with dual loyalty? If he becomes president, would he be loyal to Nigeria more than Guinea, a country he is a citizen of too? Why toy with the safety and sovereignty of this great coubry by allowing one man mess the constitution up the way he likes? Why would you let this brazen rape of our dear constitution take place, Mr CJN?
Finally, let me state here that, just as the Law gave INEC the power to make a declaration, it also gave the judiciary power to reverse it. There is no constitutional duty to inaugurate a man with a drug case as Nigeria’s president on May 29th if the declaration made by INEC chairman has been legally challenged.
You must let the Election Tribunal take it’s course before a president is decided. Take action, before you burn Nigeria down.
