Gregory University Uturu Scores High In NUC Accreditation Exercise 

 

In keeping with the excellent performance record of Gregory University Uturu in past accreditation undertakings by the National Universities Commission(NUC), the high flying institution has again posted a massively impressive showing in a recent evaluation and re-evaluation exercise of some courses carried out by the regulatory agency. 

 

In a letter to the Vice Chancellor of Gregory University Uturu, the NUC, through her acting Director of Accreditation, Engr. Abraham Chundusu conveyed the result of the accreditation exercise conducted on 16 courses of the institution between October and November 2023.

 

According to the letter, 13 out of 16 programmes assessed received commendable ratings of ‘accredited’ and ‘full accreditation’ while the remaining 3, which just matured for evaluation were accorded ‘interim’ accreditation.

 

Some of the courses that received full accreditation status include, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Geology, Anatomy, Physiotherapy, Radiography and Radiation Sciences, Education Mathematics, Education Biology, Education Chemistry, French Language, History and International Studies.

 

Continuing, the letter stated that while such programmes as M.Sc. Accounting and M.Sc.Business Administration were given accreditation respectively, Architecture, Pharm D and Optometry, which were being evaluated for the first time, conventionally received interim accreditation ratings.

Reacting to the outcome of the assessment exercise, the acting Vice Chancellor of Gregory University Uturu, Prof Celestina Njoku lauded the NUC for a job well done, while pledging the institution’s preparedness to sustain a healthy mutually beneficial relationship with the regulatory agency.

 

Reaffirming the institution’s

commitment to high standards and quality assurance, Prof Njoku appreciated staff and students of the university for their dedication to academic excellence.

 

Gregory University Uturu currently parades a total of 57 highly competitive NUC accredited programmes spread across 10 Colleges and School of Post Graduate Studies.
